About Lilyillo

Lilyillo (born 1981, Sydney) is a multidisciplinary artist based in Canberra, Australia, working across traditional mediums of watercolour & drawing as well as digital AI mediums. Her work explores personal stories, family history & memories, concepts of identity, notions of craftsmanship & acts of making and unmaking.

Her work has been exhibited extensively across Australia, and internationally at venues including Artmatr (Brooklyn NYC), the Constantin Brancusi Centre of the Craiova Art Museum (Romania), The Canvas 3.0 (New York), Cite Internationale des Arts (Paris), Contemporary Art Academy of China (Beijing). She has minted work across the Etherium, Tezos and Cardano blockchains.

She was the recipient of the Australia Council for the Arts: 'New Work Emerging Artist Grant and undertook artist residencies at the Cite Internationale des Arts, Paris, and at Deveron Arts, Huntly, Scotland. In addition, she has worked for the Australia National Association for the Visual Arts, and held the position of director at the artist-run space Firstdraft Gallery, Sydney.

Lilyillo completed a Bachelor Art History & Theory, a Masters of Art Administration & Curatorial Studies and a Masters of Fine Arts (majoring in drawing), all from the College of Fine Arts (CoFA), University of New South Wales, Sydney.
